Spring Brain April 2-5, 2020 has been cancelled
See information below for SB 2021
April 8, 2020
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
My email is sent with the sincere hope that each and every one of you is well and shouldering the burdens brought about by the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.
Two months ago, we were watching cases of Covid-19 erupt overseas and by the end of that month we faced the reality that we, too, were vulnerable. It is hard to fathom the number of changes we have witnessed taking place around us in the past 30 days.
Looking back to early March, I want to extend gratitude to all of you who were willing to share your time and your expertise with the 90 or so other individuals registered to attend the April 2, 2020 meeting. Also, I want to thank Dimitrios Davalos, the Chair of the Program Committee, and the members of the Program Committee (John Gale, Karen Moxon, Frank Porreca, and Doug Rosene) for working so diligently to solicit speakers for the program, for assembling the agenda and sequence, and for the collaborative discussions that led to the informed decision to cancel. Poco Diablo Resort and Russ Barksdale also are recognized for their cooperation when we decided to cancel the conference.
Looking to the future, Spring Brain Conference 2021 is scheduled for April 15 to April 18 at Poco Diablo Resort. We are hopeful that a year from now we will be on the other side of this and able to continue with the 30+ year tradition of Spring Brain Conference. We remain committed to creating an exciting, diverse, and relevant scientific program for 2021.
To that end, we would like to extend an invitation to the 2020 key note speakers and plenary session organizers and plenary speakers to participate in Spring Brain Conference 2021. Please send me an email by June 15 with your decision to participate (or not). The Program Committee will follow-up with you.
I think it would be positive for us as a community to check in during the next months, and so, I am suggesting the possibility that we connect via Zoom to share our thoughts about Spring Brain Conference 2021. Imagine it as the Annual Business Meeting, held remotely.
Please be well and take care of yourselves and those in your homes and community. We will get through this ordeal.
Most sincerely yours,
The Spring Brain Conferences have a 30 year history of organizing a highly interactive and diverse annual meeting with a program that draws from many fields of Neuroscience and Brain Health. Basic research as well as translational sessions are included in each year's scientific program and outreach events help communicate the newest findings in Brain research to the local community.
